A Relaxing Day At SpaLondon

Housed in the Kensington Recreation Centre, SpaLondon is a plush facility that offers a variety of options, including rejuvenating massages, thermal spa, and anti-ageing treatments. After a particularly stressful week at work, I arrived at the spa in a serious need of de-stressing.

My skin was feeling extremely dehydrated and dull, so I opted for the Elemis Skin Specific Prescription Facial. After a brief consultation with my facialist Lilyanne, I was whisked away to one of the rooms. Minimalistic and clean, the cosy room had a warm bed to produce a soporific effect.

The treatment began with a foot bath which instantly lulled me into a relaxed state. The facialist had carefully calibrated the facial to meet my skin's needs and used products that were specifically aimed at rejuvenating lacklustre skin . She cleansed my face with a dry oil and massaged my neck and back to ease my tensed muscles.

After a thorough cleanse, she massaged my skin with a hydrating moisturiser and applied a mask. While her nimble fingers worked its magic on my face, I fell into a deep slumber. It was the most relaxing facial I've had in a long time; I came out totally dazed and refreshed.

Post the facial I was taken to the thermal spa to experience the services. After sweating it out in the aroma steam room, I took a plunge into the hydrotherapy pool. They advise you to alternate between the hot and cold treatments to keep your body hydrated. Finally, I stepped into the relaxation area and snoozed for a good thirty minutes.

This mid-priced spa is perfect for when you want to relax without worrying about running up a huge bill.

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel

oskia renaissance cleansing gel review caroline hirons
Read on to know why the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel is my desert island product....

I'm always on the lookout for good cleansers and very few have impressed me quite as much as the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel. I couldn't believe how glowy and radiant my face looked after one use. Not only does it work exceptionally well at removing makeup, but it also rejuvenates and brightens the complexion. Packed with skin nourishing ingredients like vitamins A, C & E, pumpkin enzymes, rose and chamomile, this one is seriously the cleanser of all cleansers.

It has a light, bouncy gel texture that melts into the skin effortlessly. With a faint rose and chamomile scent, the super-gentle formula cleanses without stripping or drying out the skin. I use it as my second cleanser to reap the benefits of its power-packed ingredients. To sum it up, my skin looks smooth and supple after every use. At £29 it's far from bargainous, but it'll be the best skincare investment you'll ever make.
