Say Hello To Guest Blogger, Kajal!

Hello there! I’m Kajal. Born and raised in Dubai, with copious doses of sun, sand and sea. Currently living in Edinburgh, where one gets it ALL (cold winds, rain, hailstorms, snow) except sunshine! Now that my compulsory ‘Scottish-weather-rant’ is over, let me tell you what I’ll be doing here.

I’m an enthusiastic scientist who is also extremely interested in Beauty and Lifestyle. As a guest blogger here, I’ll be sharing my current beauty favourites, travel makeup essentials, skincare routine as well as tips for de-cluttering your life and having a happy mind-set. All in all, a good mix of ‘shallow’ and ‘deep’ life stuff! ;)

I'll be here every Friday to entertain you with my posts!

Highlighters For A Dewy Complexion

best highlighters for indian skin, nars multiples, topshop glow
If your skin is looking a bit lacklustre due to the wretched winter, these glow-giving highlighters offer instant results.....

Highlighters are definitely the most favourite part of my makeup routine. The one I'm currently road-testing is the RMK Gold Impression Illuminator. It's an intense highlighter with finely-milled shimmer in a beautiful velvety formula. One sweep across the cheeks is enough to achieve that covetable lit-from-within glow. It's best reserved for night-time as it can look too obvious in the harsh daylight.

Topshop Glow in Polished lends a subtle incandescence to the cheeks. Housed in a glass pot, this highly blendable formula is perfect for oilier skin types as it dries down to a matte finish. If you want to achieve a VS-Angel-like-glow, Nars Multiples in Maldives imparts the most gorgeous sheen. With a peachy undertone, this shimmery formula is perfect for days when you want to brighten up your complexion. Finally, the pièce de résistance in my glow-giving line-up is the Kiko Glowing Potion. Subtlest of the bunch, it offers an imperceivable luminosity to the skin.

What are your favourite highlighters?

Let's Catch-Up #1: Grateful

As the year draws to a close, I can't help but reflect on how 2015 has changed me in so many ways....

It's been a year of learning to re-align. From getting married to moving to a whole new country, it's been a year of embracing the unknown. From not knowing how or who my blog's audience will be to finally finding a niche, it's been a year of finding my footing. From struggling to find a job to finding the one I like, it's been a year of striving. From lacking inspiration to finding it back again, it's been a year of trying to stay positive. In all, it's been a wonderful year, thanks to all the people who've stood by me at every turn of the way. Thank you for being a special part of my journey, though this blog remains purely a hobby, it's something I'm quite proud of. Head over to my other blog to read about our NYE plans.

PS: I'm still pinching myself over the fact that I got to meet Lisa Eldridge at the Liberty book launch and Amelia Liana at her #Ameliascharitychallenges pyjama party. You can catch a glimpse of me in this video.

Happy New Year!
